the best of '09

regardless of the year they made their initial appearance in the world.)

Grizzly Bear: Veckatimest. Their first album is good for background music, but this one is really fantastic for singing along with in the car. Regardless of whether you know all the words or not.

Dr. Dog: Fate. Again, a great album to sing along with. And it's only $5 if you download it from Amazon.

New Moon: Don't judge me.

Arcade Fire: Neon Bible. I preordered this album when it came out a while back, and I loved it, but this year it clicked. Every song made sense. Every song resonated within me after everything this year was over. Best feeling.

Everything is Illuminated + the soundtrack. Beautiful film.

The Time Traveler's Wife. I cried. A lot. In a good way. It made me want to love a little bit more. And Kevin Drew/Broken Social Scene was the band in the wedding scene. If you don't know who that person/that band is, disregard that fact. It doesn't matter that much.

Matilda. I bought this movie a couple months ago for $5 at Target! Woohoo! If you haven't seen this movie, I hope you do. It has a wonderfully happy ending!
