The Great Outdoors.

I love winter in Utah, I really do. I live in such a lovely neighborhood that looks like a wonderland the morning after a snow storm, when a fresh layer of snow is literally covering every outdoor surface possible. I drive a half hour to campus everyday and hardly mind because of the view of the snow covered mountains, sometimes with the sun shining around them, and sometimes with thick, dark clouds hugging them. These are things that you simply cannot be a part of in Southern California, at least not in my town.

But last summer I really loved going running after the sun had set. It was not cold, it was not hot, but it was perfect. I could just run, be alone (with my pepper spray, of course), and push myself. I miss it so much! Running in the cold is just not my cup of tea. And running on an indoor track doesn't cut it, either (though I'm going to [attempt to] force myself to get into that habit anyway).

So, basically, this is me publicly taking back my previously sentiment that I could easily live in Utah forever. I could still live in Utah forever, but I'm afraid my waistline and general physical well being would disagree.
