Downer

In August I set out to La Jolla Cove with a beach chair and a book (Mindy Kaling's "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns)") and just read. It was perfect. Now feeling the warmth of the sun on my shoulders seems like a dream. Here in Utah the weather is getting colder. The leaves are changing from their vibrant fall colors to crisp and dead. Pretty soon wearing a jacket or sweater will be a necessity. The thought at first seemed appealing, but now has left a pit in my stomach (or it may be the large Diet Coke I just downed, I'm not sure).

What I would give to have one more day of sun on my shoulders. Or the feeling of warm water rushing around my body in a swimming pool.

Maybe I'll take a warm bath tonight.
