I'm not the best at completing reading assignments-- that's probably where I lost the most points this semester, when teachers held me accountable for that. But I can bust out a decent essay, and I can rock a creative project. (Case in point: in 11th grade we had to do a final project for my english class, and I wrote and recorded a soundtrack to Catcher in the Rye. I got 100%. It was awesome).
On Sunday night I finished up my project for my "Family Life in World Religions" class. The assignment was to make a religious object for our homes. Because I love anything that is associated with sleeping and snuggling, I made a quilt, and made the design to loosely represent the Plan of Salvation (Picture above: the green is representative of the Garden of Eden, black is the veil/earth life, the lighter section is the Celestial Kingdom-- it's all kind of flowing together to represent the continuity of it all-- we can have heaven in our homes now, etc).
For my American Folklore class I've been collecting covers of lullabies from different musicians I know, specifically lullabies that had been sung to them as children. These lullabies are posted here for you to enjoy.
Unrelated to school, I recorded "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" with my friend Ethan Jacobsen the other day, and you can listen to it (and download it!) here. OR here!
I'm also working on another music project with another friend. I don't have much to share about it right now, but we've started recording, and I'm pretty stoked about it.
Anyway, those are some of the things that make me excited. I hope you got something out of this, too!
